I hope you haven’t put your umbrella away just yet folks. The National Weather Service is reporting rain chances in the South Central Texas area are increasing from Sunday night, April 19 into Monday, April 20.
“Rain chances increase this evening in the west, then increase overnight into Monday morning for the rest of the area,” the NWS said. “Overcast skies and lighter wind is expected tonight will cool lows in the upper 40s and 50s.” Cooler temperatures look to linger as storms hover around the area.
Sunday night, scattered showers and thunderstorms will hike up to a 50% chance of precipitation across the region before 1 a.m., but especially in San Antonio. Winds could also get up to 20 miles per hour. “New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms,” the NWS said. So, if the Spurs take game one against the Portland Trailblazers, keep that in mind if you’re thinking about going honking down Military or Commerce.
Showers are likely headed into Monday morning with a 70% chance of rain, and will remain there until Tuesday, April 21. What’s Fiesta season without a little rain, I guess? Although, temperatures are likely to get warmer hitting the 60s and 70s. Rain chances will hit 40% much of Tuesday before they dwindle heading into Wednesday, April 22. So make sure you keep that Spurs jacket handy.
