Gardner Marshall Peavy was bestowed the honor of this year’s King Antonio in a public ceremony, which is traditionally held on the first Saturday of Fiesta.
Peavy, who has a long history of serving the community through various non-profit groups and boards, will serve as King Antonio during Fiesta 2026. He is one of nine ambassadors recognized as official Fiesta royalty.
The Texas Cavaliers, a San Antonio-based philanthropic organization, is best known for hosting the annual Fiesta River Parade and supporting local children’s charities.
Fiesta, which marks its 135th anniversary this year, is an 11-day party that includes over 100 events benefiting various non-profit organizations. Fiesta was first held in 1891 with a single parade – the Battle of Flowers honoring the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of Jacinto.
Fiesta 2026 kicked off Thursday and runs through April 26.
