TCU Baseball faced off against Baylor on April 17, 2026, at Magnolia Field in Waco, Texas, for game one of a three-game weekend series.

The Horned Frogs got on the board first in the top of the second inning when catcher Nolan Traeger drove in first baseman Brady Dallimore on an RBI out.

The Bears responded quickly with a sacrifice fly in the bottom half of the inning to even the score.

Designated hitter Noah Franco kept the momentum going for TCU with a home run, his third of the season, in the top of the fourth inning.

Starting pitcher Trevor Baumler held Baylor to just one run until the bottom of the fifth, when the Bears tied the game at 2-2 on an RBI single. Baumler was then relieved by Mason Brassfield.

Brassfield allowed two runs later in the fifth and another in the sixth, giving Baylor a 5-2 lead.

Traeger sparked some life for the Frogs in the seventh inning with a leadoff home run, his second of the season.

However, Baylor continued to capitalize against the TCU bullpen, drawing a bases-loaded walk and adding a home run off pitcher Walter Quinn to extend the lead to 7-3.

Quinn was replaced by Kade Durnin, but the Bears’ offense stayed hot. In the bottom of the eighth, Baylor scored five runs on four hits to put the game out of reach.

TCU was unable to rally in the ninth, and the game ended in an 11-4 Baylor victory.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow in Waco, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
