MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) – A man was arrested after a 2-year-old child tested positive for THC and was flown to Lubbock for treatment.
According to an affidavit, a Midland police officer was called to Midland Memorial Hospital on April 19 at around 2:37 p.m. about a 2-year-old child that tested positive for THC.
When the officer arrived, the mother of the child said she had no idea how the child would have had THC in its system.
After further investigation, the officer found Keyber Enrique Reyes-Sandrea, who confessed to leaving a THC vape in reach of the child that consumed the THC.
The affidavit said Sandrea discarded the vape after the child became ill from consuming the THC.
The child was flown to Lubbock for further care due to the overdose of THC in its system.
Sandrea was arrested for reckless injury to a child causing bodily injury. He was taken to the Midland County Detention Center.
