Officers were dispatched shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday to Dodd Park, located in the 1500 block of Selma Lane, where they found 17-year-old Ty’Ron Kuria in a field with multiple gunshot wounds.
Kuria was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said in a news release.
Two men, both Anna residents, were taken into custody Monday, according to police. They were booked into the Wylie jail, each on a charge of capital murder.
According to the release, the arrests were the result of a coordinated effort with neighboring police departments, SWAT and the U.S. Marshals Service.
“I am thankful for the officers and detectives in the Wylie Police Department who worked everyday to determine what took place near Dodd Park,” police Chief Anthony Henderson wrote in a statement. “We remain committed to continuing our investigation until this case is ready to be sent to the Collin County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.”
