While Plano West put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can’t be said for Princeton. The Wolves put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering the Wolves have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday’s blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Kendall Prowell, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Princeton off the board. Prowell has been consistent recently: she hasn’t given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooke Reasoner, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Jennings, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Plano West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton only posted an OBP of .143.
Plano West has been performing incredibly well recently as they’ve won eight of their last nine contests. That’s provided a nice bump to their 16-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Princeton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.
Coincidentally, Plano West and Princeton will both be playing Prosper the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wolves will host them at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
