TTUHSC graduate programs ranked among nation’s best

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Several graduate programs at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center have been recognized in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate School Rankings.

The TTUHSC School of Nursing ranked No. 12 nationally in the Best Midwifery Programs category. The TTUHSC School of Health Professions Nadine and Tom Craddick Physician Assistant Studies Program ranked No. 14 in the Physician Assistant program under Best Schools of Health.

TTUHSC Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost Darrin D’Agostino said the rankings reflect TTUHSC’s dedication to preparing future health care professionals to meet the evolving needs of patients and communities across Texas and the nation.

“National recognition of our graduate programs underscores TTUHSC’s position as a leader in health sciences education,” D’Agostino said. “We are honored to be recognized for the outstanding work happening across our schools and remain focused on delivering transformative educational experiences for our students.”

Additional rankings

The TTUHSC School of Medicine ranked No. 55 out of 172 for Most Graduates Practicing in Health Professional Shortage Areas and No. 60 out of 172 for Most Graduates Practicing in Primary Care.

Other rankings include No. 38 in Pharmacy out of 140, No. 57 in Physical Therapy out of 273, No. 59 in Occupational Therapy out of 289, and No. 78 in Speech-Language Pathology out of 286 under Best Schools of Health.

The School of Nursing ranked No. 47 out of 159 in Doctor of Nursing Practice and No. 48 out of 209 in Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs. The Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health ranked No. 89 out of 224 in Public Health.

U.S. News & World Report evaluates hundreds of graduate schools each year based on criteria such as academic reputation, faculty credentials, research activity and graduate success.
