SAN ANTONIO – A three-year-old is recovering after she and her mother were attacked at Espada Park over the weekend.
Gabriella Perez says she and her daughter were fishing with their family when a man ran up to them, pulled her hair, and punched her.
She says the man then jumped on her daughter and began biting her on the face.

Gabriella started pulling his hair to get him off her daughter when several good Samaritans intervened and began kicking and punching the man. They restrained him until police arrived.

Police have identified the man as 24-year-old Atharva Vyas. He is now charged with aggravated assault and assault causing bodily injury.
The little girl lost two teeth in the attack.
