EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Mexican musician and actress Ximena Sariñana is returning to El Paso for a performance at the Sol Summit Festival, promising what she called “a special show.”
“[I’m] very excited to be back in El Paso… excited to be a part of this amazing festival that showcases so many amazing artists,” Sariñana said in an interview ahead of the event.
Sariñana said her set will feature music spanning multiple albums, including music from her latest album “Existencia Kamikaze.”
When asked what fans can expect, Sariñana said her performance will be “full of energy,” adding, “There’s going to be something for everyone.”

Sariñana also emphasized the importance of festivals that reflect the region’s identity.
Sariñana said Sol Summit “is going to highlight the border culture and the bilingual identity,” adding that borders are places where people can see “what it feels like to just be fully cooperative and collaborative… People from El Paso feel like an extension of Juárez. And people from Juárez feel El Paso very close to their heart.”

The Sol Summit will be held at the San Jacinto Plaza in Downtown El Paso on May 2 and 3.

Bomba Estereo, DIIV and local band Frontera Bugalu are among the artists set to perform Saturday, May 2.
Sariñana, as well as The Flaming Lips, Sparta and local bands Sultanes del Yonke and Doom Well, among others, will perform on Sunday, May 3.

It is important to note that this will be a busy weekend in the Borderland, as it’s the same weekend BTS will perform at the UTEP Sun Bowl, the El Paso Comic Con will be held at the Convention Center (also in Downtown) and the Michelada Fest will rock Ascarate Park.
