George Strait is preparing for two concert dates in Lubbock on April 24 and April 25. There are serious resources being dedicated to the concerts, including brining in extra police from the Texas Department of Public Safety to make sure all is safe.

When Will George Strait Perform in Lubbock?

George Strait will perform Friday, April 24 and Saturday the 25 at Jones AT&T Stadium, with Dylan Gossett and Zach Top as the opening acts on Friday and Hudson Westbrook as well as Miranda Lambert on Saturday.

When Do Gates Open?

Stadium gates will open at 4:15 p.m., roughly 90 minutes ahead of the anticipated start to each show.

Will There Be a Clear Bag Policy In Place for the Concert?

Yes, Jones AT&T Stadium does have a clear bag policy. Large bags like backpacks, large purses and tote bags are all banned. The allowed items include any clear bag that is no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″, a gallon-sized freezer bag or a small clutch bag that is no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″. There are exceptions for medically necessary items that must be approved by Texas Tech stadium staff.

Where Can I Park for the George Strait Concert?

Hopefully, you bought a parking pass when they became available. Texas Tech will utilize mobile parking passes for the satellite and United Supermarkets Arena lots. Physical parking permits will be distributed in the coming days for parking purchases in all other concert lots. Tailgating is not permitted in any parking lot ahead of each concert. Texas Tech is also not permitting RVs in any on-campus lot, even with an advanced parking purchase.

Can I Use Ride Share Apps Like Uber to Lyft To Get To and Away From the George Strait Concert?

Yes. If you’re taking an Uber, Lyft or any other rideshare service, your pick-up and drop-off spot is Memorial Circle at 2500 Broadway.

Will There Be Any Shuttle Services?

Yes, there will be roundtrip shuttle service starting at 3pm and lasting until an hour after the concert for those in the following lots.

For those who park in the parking lots north of the John Walker Soccer Complex, the West commuter lots off Indiana and Texas Tech Parkway, and Northwest of the Health Sciences Center at Texas Tech Parkway and 5th Street (Saturday only for this location).
