Months after the iconic San Antonio bar, Web House, shuttered, its former home is seeing new life in the form of a tavern that’s bringing high fantasy to the barroom table.
Drop Dice Tavern is the new concept that is taking shape inside (and outside) of the space on the corner of Blanco Road and Ashby Place. A giant, wall-spanning mural has cropped up on the side of the building depicting a party of wizards, archers and the like battling against a big, red dragon. An Instagram account and a website for Dice Drop Tavern are now live and teasing the bar’s upcoming opening.
“Think of us as your neighborhood bar — but with a twist. Affordable drinks, cozy vibes, and shelves stacked with board games and TTRPGs make every visit an adventure,” said an excerpt from Dice Drop Tavern’s homepage.
In an Instagram post, Dice Drop Tavern announced its opening date will be from noon to 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 2. Adventurers who are 21 and up are invited to the grand opening. First-time customers can expect drinks, food, vendors, prizes and, of course, plenty of games to go around.
Web House sadly exited the San Antonio bar scene in August 2025, less than a year after its owner, Mikhail “Mischka” Timofeyev, died, leaving the space vacant and white boxed for a few months before Dice Drop Tavern entered the picture. MySA has reached out to Dice Drop Tavern for comment, but we did not hear back by the time of publishing.
