EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Runners, walkers, and community members are invited to lace up their sneakers for the inaugural Amigo Man 5K Race & 1 Mile Walk, set to take place May 3 at the scenic McKelligon Canyon.
The event aims to bring the community together for a morning of fitness, fun, and philanthropy, with proceeds supporting the Bryan Crowe Scholarship.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early, as gates will close promptly at 7:15 a.m.
The 5K race is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 1-mile walk.
Registration costs $35, with a $5 discount available for military participants.
The event is designed to be family-friendly, welcoming even four-legged companions. Pets can join free of charge and will receive a complimentary bandana.
Attendees can also enjoy a variety of food trucks and local vendors on-site, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Packet pickup will be available in advance from Wednesday through Saturday at the Visitor Information Center, allowing participants to streamline their race-day experience.
Organizers encourage early registration online and note that the event coincides with National Travel and Tourism Week, highlighting El Paso’s vibrant outdoor and community activities.
