AUSTIN, Texas — A cargo train derailed in downtown Austin early Thursday morning.
APD says that officers are at the scene of the derailment near Bowie and West Third Streets
Police say that the derailment was non-hazardous, and that no injuries have been reported. APD also says that Union Pacific and Amtrak have been contacted regarding the incident.

Drivers and residents are told to expect delays and closures as crews work the area. APD says officers are determining which roads will be closed.
Union Pacific also says that the train derailment is blocking the railroad crossing at 1300 W. Oltorf St. and the crossing at Mary Street, both in south Austin.
APD will provide a media briefing this morning on the incident.
