Fire crews in Corpus Christi responded to a residential fire at 7713 Weber Rd after reports of a palm tree fire quickly escalated.
The Corpus Christi Fire Department says when crews arrived on scene, they found a small residential structure, with nearby properties and hazards at risk.
Additional crews were called in and helped supply water lines stretching across Weber Road. Police shut down the road as the response grew to a second alarm.
Firefighters worked together to contain the flames and protect nearby structures, including a large pile of tires and several surrounding homes. Officials say the fire has been brought under control, and a fire watch remains in place at the location.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released. Fire crews continue to investigate.
