Plano ISD is proud to announce the appointments of four new administrators, who were introduced at the April 21, 2026, board work session.
Jessica Malloy joins Meadows Elementary with 16 years in Plano ISD, most recently as the assistant principal at Barron Elementary for the past three years. Previously, she was the assistant principal at Beaty Early Childhood School. Mrs. Malloy also served as a district-level curriculum and instructional specialist, a 4th Grade teacher and team leader at Christie Elementary.
Throughout her career, she has completed Plano ISD’s Aspiring Assistant Principal Academy and Aspiring Principal Academy. She has also served as a summer school principal for three years.
Mrs. Malloy earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Baker University and her principal certification from the University of North Texas.
Dr. Amy Weems joins Hedgecoxe Elementary with 24 years of experience in education, currently serving as the principal of Rose Haggar Elementary and will transition into her new role at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
Previously, Dr. Weems was the assistant principal at Davis Elementary. Before joining Plano ISD in 2020, she was an assistant principal in McKinney ISD. Dr. Weems also had stints in Allen ISD as a campus intervention specialist and Burleson ISD as a 6th grade math and science teacher.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and her doctorate, along with her superintendent certification, from the University of North Texas.
Dr. Patrick Johnson joins Plano ISD with 30 years of information technology experience, including a decade of focused cybersecurity leadership. He brings particular familiarity with the district, having facilitated Plano ISD’s first IT Risk Assessment under Senate Bill 820. He has served as a trusted cybersecurity partner to the district since then.
Dr. Johnson’s career also spans 20 years in Texas public education, complemented by seven years of consulting work across K-12 school systems, state and local government agencies, and private sector organizations throughout Texas, the broader United States and Australia. His areas of expertise include information security governance, risk and compliance management, cybersecurity program development and leading technical engineering teams.
Dr. Johnson holds a Doctorate in Information Systems and Enterprise Resource Management. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), widely regarded as the gold standard credential in cybersecurity, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
James Lorio joins Plano ISD with 29 years of experience in public education, most recently serving in Frisco ISD, Garland ISD and Irving ISD. He brings a broad range of perspectives from his work as a teacher, principal and district leader.
Mr. Lorio is a strategic and resourceful leader with a strong track record of supporting diverse stakeholders through thoughtful planning, coaching and a servant leadership mindset. He also brings extensive experience in grievance procedures, policy implementation and guiding administrators through complex situations with clarity and consistency.
Mr. Lorio holds a Master of Education in Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor or Arts in History and Elementary Education from the University of Dallas.
