EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Assistance League of El Paso is inviting the community to take part in a fundraiser next month aimed at helping local children in need.

The all-volunteer nonprofit will host “A Taste of Five Points,” a one-mile walk on Saturday, May 2, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The event will feature 13 participating restaurants offering small tastings along the route, with proceeds benefiting the organization’s program, Operation School Bell.

According to organizers, the fundraiser will provide clothing for at least 75 children in the El Paso area. Operation School Bell works to supply students with a full week’s worth of new school clothing, helping ease financial strain on families and support children’s confidence.

The Assistance League of El Paso is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, contributing more than 25,000 service hours each year to support its programs.

The organization stated they serve the community through several initiatives, including Operation School Bell, Assault Survivor Kits, and the PASO Bear program, all focused on assisting vulnerable populations across El Paso County.

Funds for these services are raised through community donations, grants, a volunteer-run thrift shop, and special events like the upcoming walk.

Organizers say “A Taste of Five Points” offers a way for residents to support local children while also experiencing the neighborhood’s culinary scene.
