With classes ending next Tuesday, finals are upon the students of UTA.

For many students, finals season can be a time of stress. Countless hours may be spent studying, working tirelessly to see the finish line. UTA provides several resources that can help students who are feeling stressed.

Counseling and Psychological Services provides students with consultation sessions and six free therapy sessions a semester, with additional sessions costing $10 each. The consultations provide students with brief meetings to talk with a counselor and receive additional resources.

Students can also use TimelyCare, a free therapy platform that provides around-the-clock virtual care services.

Additionally, students can use TutorTrac to schedule an in-person or virtual one-on-one meeting with a tutor who has taken the class previously for any last-minute questions.

Students can also use the Writing Center at the Central Library in 30- or 60-minute sessions for writing coaching. Students are allowed three appointments a week at the center.

Student organizations on campus have been hosting events for students to destress and study, from the Counseling and Psychology Services Ambassadors’ Destress Under the Stars Movie Night, where they showed “The Little Prince” at the Planetarium, to the American Institute of Graphic Arts’ Matcha & Study event.

Here are some events student organizations are planning in the final week of school to help combat finals stress.

The Korean Culture Association is hosting a study date for students from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Nueces A or B in The Commons. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

The Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students is hosting a study social event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Science and Engineering Innovation and Research Building.
