Sexual assault (listed as rape in crime log under Clery Act)
On April 18, a former student reported a sexual assault that occurred in 2023, UTA Police Capt. Mike McCord said in an email.
Sexual assault is a second-degree felony punishable by imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice between two and 20 years. Perpetrators may also receive a fine not to exceed $10,000.
The case is still active.
Trademark counterfeiting
On April 14, a staff member reported a fraudulent check, McCord said.
Trademark counterfeiting between $2,500 to $30,000 is a state jail felony punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000, a state jail term between 180 days and two years or both.
Threaten another with imminent bodily injury
On April 15, an unaffiliated person reported that another person had threatened to assault them during an argument, McCord said.
Threatening another with imminent bodily injury is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.

Reckless damage or destruction of property
On April 17, a student reported damage to his vehicle while it was parked, McCord said.

Consumption of alcohol by minor and minor driving under the influence
On April 19, an officer made contact with a stopped vehicle and arrested a student for driving while intoxicated by a minor, McCord said. She was transported to the Arlington Police Department jail. The passenger in the vehicle was issued a citation for consumption of alcohol by a minor and released at the scene.
Consumption of alcohol by a minor is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $500.
A minor driving under the influence is a class C misdemeanor.
