LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Lubbock jury is deliberating the sentence of a former airman convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in 2021.
In the 364th District Court, Dorian Nevels was convicted of raping a woman while on leave.
According to court documents, Nevels came to town for a graduation celebration with a group of friends. They met with the victim and a group of her friends and went to a bar.
Later that night, the victim started blacking out and does not remember much after that.
Testimony shows Nevels went with the group to the victim’s home and assaulted her in her bedroom, forcing her to wake up.
Nevels denied the accusations on the stand, but prosecutors said he lied during his testimony.
