  • April 25, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A man who received probation for a crash that killed his passenger is back in jail.

Zachary Peterson is accused of violating terms of that sentence.

In 2021, Peterson was driving and crashed near 82nd and Frankford. William Wallace, 19, was a passenger and died at the scene.

Peterson confessed he had been drinking at the time of the wreck.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter in 2023 and was sentenced to 10 years probation.

He is held without bond and will be in custody until a hearing to determine his punishment.
