Walmart is slated to kickstart a major $2.6 million renovation and alteration project at its store in the bustling East Austin suburb of Manor, according to new project filings registered on Wednesday, April 22, with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The changes are poised to be made at the storefront located at 11923 East U.S. Hwy. 290, Manor, TX 78653.
The planned project features a remodeling scope of 8,920 square feet, including 6,122 square feet earmarked for expansion. The construction is centered on renovations to the store’s adjacent fuel station, including remodeled restrooms and interior paintwork.
Under current project timelines, construction is expected to begin in late January 2027 and wrap up in mid-May 2027. Both costs and timeline estimates included in TDLR project filings are approximations and subject to change.
It’s not the only revamp project Walmart has up its sleeves this spring. The retailer also registered on Monday, April 20, two additional projects in South Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Those slated improvements include the $121,000 addition of a Dunkin coffee shop kiosk inside Walmart’s store in San Benito, as well as an estimated $800,000 for the construction of electric vehicle charging stations at Walmart’s storefront off Cartwright Road in Mesquite.
