Superintendents in Tarrant County traditional public school districts and charters all earn six-figure salaries.
New annual data from the Texas Education Agency detailed the salaries of school leaders who were in charge in October 2025.
Birdville ISD Superintendent Gayle Stinson is at the top of the list, with a total salary of $551,576. She has led the 22,000-student district just east of Fort Worth since 2021.
Karen Molinar, the now-former superintendent of Fort Worth ISD, had the third-highest salary at $430,065. Molinar left her position as chief of the county’s biggest district in March when Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath appointed Peter Licata as superintendent for the takeover.
FWISD’s board of managers is working with Licata on a permanent superintendent contract. He is currently on a short-term contract.
The highest-paid charter superintendent is Traci Berry of New Heights, which serves adults 18 to 50 who dropped out of high school and helps them earn their diploma. Berry earns $250,000.
