EL PASO, Texas — An 18-year-old El Paso resident died following a single-vehicle collision on Montana Avenue early Sunday morning.
The Special Traffic Investigation Unit responded to the crash at the 12200 block of Montana on April 26, 2026, according to a press release from the El Paso Police Department. A 2021 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Erick Holguin, 18, of El Paso, Texas, was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when it struck a concrete barrier and curb, causing the vehicle to roll over. Holguin and his passenger, Jonathan Reyes, a 17-year-old El Paso resident, sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. Holguin later succumbed to his injuries.
This incident marks the 18th traffic fatality in El Paso for 2026, compared to 21 at the same time last year, stated the source.
