Food stamp benefits are set to pause Nov. 1 as the federal government shutdown continues.
Here’s a list of organizations offering food assistance for those in need:
Mission Arlington
What: Emergency Food Assistance
Where: 210 W. South St., Arlington
When: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday; 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday
Arlington Charities
What: Food pantry
Where: 811 Secretary Drive, Arlington
When: By appointment on the website.
Requirements: To sign up for an appointment to use the food pantry, you fill out an application with the organization. You can sign up here.
Arlington Salvation Army
What: Food pantry
Where: 712 W. Abram St., Arlington
When: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursdays
Arlington Adventist Church
What: REVIVE Community Care Food Pantry
Where: 4409 Pleasantview Drive, Arlington
When: 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 5 and 19
Requirements: To use the food pantry, you must apply here.
Water from the Rock
What: Food assistance
Where: 402 N.L. Robinson Drive, Arlington
When: By appointment 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday
Requirements: To request food assistance, call 817-860-9702. The assistance is for central Arlington residents.
Arlington Hearts and Hands
What: Food assistance
Where: 1601 N. Davis Drive, Arlington
When: 9-11:30 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. 10-11:30 a.m. and 6-7 p.m. on Wednesdays.
UTA Maverick Pantry
What: Food pantry specific to University of Texas at Arlington students and staff
Where: 520 S. Center St., Arlington
When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays; noon-6 p.m. Thursdays; and 9 a.m.-noon Fridays.
Arlington Taste Project
What: Brunch or lunch at the Arlington Taste Project, the city’s pay-as-you-can restaurant.
Where: 200 N. Cooper St., Arlington
When: Brunch is 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lunch is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday-Friday.
