With a new album arriving this week and a string of Central Texas appearances on deck, Kacey Musgraves is giving Austin-area fans multiple chances to catch her in person.
The East Texas native is set to release her new album, “Middle of Nowhere,” on May 1 and will follow it with a weekend that includes a Waterloo Records signing in Austin and several performances at the historic dance hall in New Braunfels.
Musgraves’ most anticipated local stops are her May 3, 4 and 5 shows at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels. Doors open at 7 p.m., with special guests the Mariachi Brothers scheduled for 8 p.m. Musgraves is set to take the stage at 9 p.m. General admission tickets are priced at $65, plus an $11 service fee. The all-ages show goes on sale online Tuesday at 10 a.m. CDT.
Before that, Musgraves is scheduled for a record signing at Waterloo Records on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. The appearance was limited to 250 priority-admission wristband holders who preordered “Middle of Nowhere” on CD or vinyl. Those wristbands have already been fully claimed, meaning no additional signing access is currently available.
Musgraves has long maintained a strong connection to Texas audiences. Her Grammy-winning 2018 album “Golden Hour” elevated her into the mainstream, while 2024’s “Deeper Well” leaned into a softer, introspective sound.
Austin fans will likely be watching for one more possible hometown-area appearance later this year: the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Musgraves last headlined the festival in 2022, and with a fresh album arriving now, many are hoping to see her back on the lineup once again.
