The suspect fled the scene and is still at large, sparking a major manhunt.

Austin Police said they are “actively looking to locate” the gunman.

East 12th Street was shut down between Chicon and Alamo streets as officers combed the area for evidence late into the night.

Multiple social media users said they heard shots fired near the restaurant, while a worker at a nearby business confirmed there had been a shooting, reported The Austin American Statesman.

Despite the chaos, police believe this was an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

An investigation is ongoing and the number and condition of victims may still change as more details emerge.
