Construction has already begun with the goal of completing the multi-phase project by 2028.

FRISCO, Texas — Home of FC Dallas, Toyota Stadium in Frisco is undergoing a major renovation, marking a significant step forward for the region’s “Sports City U.S.A.” reputation.

The stadium upgrade will cost nearly $200 million and includes plans for expanded seating, improved shade coverings and upgraded club and suite amenities. Construction has already begun with the goal of completing the multi-phase project by 2028.

A renewal of the long partnership between FC Dallas and Toyota was also announced, extending their agreement for another ten years amid the ongoing transformation of the venue. Frisco City Manager Wes Pierson described the project as an extension of the city’s forward-looking sports identity.

“We’re always looking for what we will do in the future,” Pierson said.

The renovations were described by FC Dallas leadership as more than cosmetic, a facelift, if you will. They’re an investment in fan experience and the club’s ability to draw major events.

“This collaboration reflects our shared passion for this sport, this city, and this region,” said David Christ, the Group Vice President and General Manager of the Toyota Division at Toyota Motor North America.

Major features of the renovation include nearly 4,000 new seats, a new east-side canopy for improved shade and weather protection, and expanded club and suite spaces to enhance hospitality and fan comfort.

“This will be the premier soccer-specific stadium on the small side, maybe in the entire world,” said FC Dallas President Dan Hunt.

Hunt said the upgrades will help the club compete for large-scale events.

“It allows us to bid on the Women’s World Cup 2031,” Hunt said. “We will meet the minimum threshold.”

By 2028, fans will be able to experience Frisco’s vision for Toyota Stadium in the city where sports never stop.
