FORT WORTH – For the first time since 2017, the TCU women’s tennis team has clinched a spot in the NCAA tournament, as the Horned Frogs are the No. 2 seed in the Baton Rouge Regional.
The program earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big 12 Tournament title. This year will mark TCU’s 19th overall appearance in the tournament. Prior to the Frogs’ last appearance in 2017, TCU had a stretch of making 18 of 22 NCAA Tournaments spanning from 1996 to 2017.
In the NCAA First Round, TCU will face off against Rice on May 2 at 11 a.m. If the Frogs were to advance, they would take on the winner of LSU and SFA on May 3 at 2 p.m. in the NCAA Second Round.
The Frogs are familiar foes with Rice, as the two squared off to open the month of February, with TCU coming away with a. 4-0 victory. Against the other side of the field, TCU last went up against LSU in 2024 in Baton Rouge, and the Frogs are 1-0 all time versus SFA with a win over the Ladyjacks in 2022.
Tickets for the Baton Rouge NCAA Regional will be priced at $5 for adults and $3 for kids and can be purchased here or online at lsusports.net under the Tournament Info page. For TCU fans interested in attending the event in person, parking is available in Lot 411, opposite the LSU Tennis Complex, but it is limited. Furthermore, Lots 408-409 will be unavailable due to reserved parking for LSU Baseball’s series against South Carolina.
The Frogs will look to advance out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history. TCU accomplished this feat in the 2006 season, as the team was able to make its way to the NCAA Third Round.
