A 19-year-old man was arrested after San Antonio police said he tried to take a woman’s belongings and fought with three boys who tried to intervene near San Antonio College.
The struggle started when the man asked a 40-year-old woman for money about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of San Pedro Avenue, police said.
When the woman refused, the man tried to take her phone and wallet and began punching her, investigators said.
Three boys — ages 15, 13 and 10 — tried to help the woman, police said. The man then began fighting with them.
Officers arrived and arrested the man on charges of robbery and injury to a child.
Minor injuries were reported, but police did not elaborate.
