On April 10, Texas EquuSearch reported that 23-year-old Ashanti Allen was missing from Houston.
The man accused of killing a Houston woman who was pregnant with their unborn child has been extradited to Texas, according to court documents and local authorities.
Kevin Faux, 24, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, on April 20, just a few days after the Houston Police Department announced he had been charged with capital murder in the death of 23-year-old Ashanti Allen. He was extradited to Harris County on Monday and was being held in the Harris County Jail. As of Tuesday, his bond had not yet been set, according to jail records.
Faux is charged for the murder of both Allen and their unborn child, court records show.

Allen was reported missing on April 10 by Texas EquuSearch, which said that Allen was “8 months pregnant and experiencing a high-risk pregnancy” at the time of her disappearance.
Several days later, on April 16, HPD announced that Allen’s body had been found at the 11000 block of Chimney Rock Road in Houston. According to HPD, Faux was the father of the unborn child.
According to court documents, Faux is accused of killing Allen early in the morning on April 10. Investigators allege that surveillance video from Allen’s apartment shows Faux and Allen leaving the property at approximately 2:25 a.m. in Allen’s car.
Approximately one hour later, Faux allegedly FaceTimed another woman — who later came forward to police — and told the woman he had killed someone, according to court documents. The woman also told investigators that Faux allegedly showed a dead body during the FaceTime call and then “had to put the phone down while he tried to drag the body,” according to court documents.
Allen’s vehicle was later located at Faux’s mother’s home, and Allen’s cell phone was also pinged near the same address after the alleged murder took place, according to investigators.
According to court documents, Faux allegedly traveled to Jefferson Parish on April 10 to meet up with a woman he had been speaking with online. The woman, who is not named in court documents, told police that Faux allegedly told her not to search for him online.
The woman told investigators that she then looked him up online and questioned him about Allen’s disappearance, court documents show. Faux was also allegedly using Allen’s debit card in Louisiana, according to investigators.
On April 15, Allen’s phone was located at Edgewood Park, which police said was a short distance from Faux’s home. According to court documents, the location data from the phone was used to locate Allen’s body.
Faux’s defense attorney declined to comment.
