A restaurant, bar and nightclub called El Chingon has arrived in Dallas, by way of Fort Worth and San Diego.
El Chingon CEO Raymond Davoudi opened the first El Chingon in California. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he said he was focusing on Texas next, and El Chingon opened in Fort Worth in late 2020. The Dallas bar, now open, marks the third.
According to Davoudi, a “steady wave of Dallas locals” visited the Fort Worth club. “It became clear that Dallas wasn’t just an opportunity — it was a demand,” he said via email in April 2026.
After several years of construction, El Chingon opened in a vacant building on Ross Avenue in Old East Dallas, near the edge of downtown Dallas and next to Columbian Country Club. Davoudi said he intends to turn an “overlooked building into a landmark.”
The space is designed with sombreros, lucha libre masks and murals by artist Juan Velazquez. The kitchen is making tacos, quesadillas, burritos, loaded fries and nachos — food that’s quick to eat, especially when the restaurant gets crowded.
El Chingon has already hosted opening weekend parties featuring mariachi bands and DJs.
At its grand opening on May 1, 2026, the first 100 guests will get free tacos. It opens at 11 a.m.
El Chingon is at 3404 Ross Ave., Dallas. Expected hours 11 a.m. until late night, seven days a week.
