After a couple nights in New Orleans on the precipice of Jazz Fest, Goose wrapped its domestic spring tour with a trio of Texas shows. The weekend concerts in Houston, Austin, and Irving marked the indie-groove ensemble’s last dates before jetting down to Mexico for its second-annual Viva El Gonzo festival.
Checking the box score of Goose’s Texas shows, the biggest bust-out came on night one, Thursday, with the first “Not Alone” since November 7th, 2024 (per ElGoose.net). The following night’s show in Austin took the prize for longest jams, charting a 22-minute “Good2B” to open the second set, followed shortly after by a 26-minute “Dripfield”.
Though nearby lightning storms cut the first set short at the Saturday night finale in Irving, Goose made up for lost time. Coming back for a full second set, the band started with a 20-minute “Empress of Organos”. After moving through “Jed Stone” and “Pancakes”, Goose again returned to the shadows of Los Organos, jumping right back to the peak of “Empress”.

After Viva El Gonzo, Goose will head overseas for a tour of Europe and the U.K., coming back for a U.S. summer tour in June. Find tickets and tour dates here.
