EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 35-year-old man wanted for charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was arrested Sunday after he allegedly refused to pull over in Far East El Paso County.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, at around 10:20 p.m., deputies tried to pull over Mario Alberto Marquez, driving a white Chevrolet Equinox, near the area of Bachimba Drive and North Darrington Road, just north of Horizon City.
The Sheriff’s office alleges that Marquez refused to stop and continued driving at a “moderate speed” until arriving at a home in the 13600 block of Bachimba Dr.
There, deputies said they arrested Marquez “without incident” and after an investigation learned he had an outstanding warrant with the Sheriff’s office for “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”

Although no information was shared regarding what the warrant, jail records show the warrant stems from an incident on April 9.
According to jail records, Marquez was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail on Monday for the warrant and the new charge of “evading arrest/detention with a vehicle,” with bond set at $30,000.
Jail records show that as of Tuesday morning, Marquez remains in jail.
