NORRISTOWN, Pa. — A Texas man has been arrested and extradited to Montgomery County, where he is facing multiple felony charges related to the alleged exploitation of a Pennsylvania minor, officials announced Tuesday.
Mitchell Van Dusen, 31, of Magnolia, Texas, is charged with Human Trafficking of a Minor, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, and Sexual Abuse of Childre, according to a press release from Montgomery County. Officials say he was taken into custody in Texas earlier this month and transported to Pennsylvania on April 24.
According to Whitpain Township Police, the investigation began on July 17, 2025, when officers were alerted to a suspected online predator after a juvenile received an Amazon package containing a vibrator, lingerie, and a necklace. Detectives say the victim reported she had been communicating with an older man online who sent the items.
Investigators later learned the two first met in an online chat room on July 4, 2025, and that the relationship quickly became sexual. Police say Van Dusen sent the victim money in exchange for explicit images, even after the victim disclosed she was a juvenile.
A forensic search of the victim’s cellphone uncovered multiple photos and videos categorized as Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), according to detectives.
On April 8, 2026, Whitpain Township Police and Montgomery County Detectives traveled to Magnolia, Texas, to assist local Texas authorities in executing a search warrant at Van Dusen’s home. He was later extradited to Pennsylvania and booked into the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on April 24.
Van Dusen was arraigned the same day by a judge who initially set bail at 10% of $500,000 with conditions including no contact with minors, no use of smart devices, and surrender of his passport. Following a bail review hearing on April 27, a different judge increased bail to $500,000 cash.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 30th at 10 a.m.
