Upcycled designs, student talent, and community impact take center stage at signature “Work the Runway” event.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Goodwill South Texas is preparing for a signature evening event that blends fashion, sustainability, and community impact, featuring student designers from across the Rio Grande Valley and Coastal Bend.
The event, called Work the Runway, will highlight high school and college designers who create original fashion pieces using upcycled Goodwill materials as part of a scholarship-driven competition focused on sustainability and innovation.
The event takes place on Thursday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m., with a plated dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a runway show from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Organizers said an after-party will run until 10 p.m. at McAllen Convention Center, located at 700 Convention Center Blvd.
The showcase is designed to elevate young talent while promoting creative reuse of materials and environmental awareness through fashion.
Proceeds from the event will support Goodwill South Texas programs, including free job training, career services, and workforce development initiatives across the region.
Organizers said seating is limited, and tables are expected to sell out. For more information, click here.
