EL PASO, Tx., April 29, 2026: El Pasoans have a busy upcoming weekend filled with several events happening around town, including the much-anticipated South Korean group – BTS (the Bangtan Boys) performing on Saturday and Sunday at the Sun Bowl stadium. The debut of the Sol Summit and Cultural Festival is also happening on Saturday and Sunday at San Jacinto Plaza in downtown El Paso. The headliners for the event are Bomba Estéreo who will be performing on Saturday, followed by The Flaming Lips on Sunday. Also performing at the event are featured acts DIIV, Ximena Sariñana, Sparta, Ela Minus, Benjamin Booker, Trio Asesino, and local talent El Mariachi Manchester, Frontera Bugalu, Sultanes del Yonke, and Bloomwave delivering the local “borderland sound.”
The 50/50 English and Spanish mix inaugural line of artists begins on Saturday. DIIV, Ela Minus, Chuwi, Radio Malilla, Benjamin Booker, Titanic, Frontera Bugalú, and El Mariachi Manchester will be in the line up on Saturday with Bomba Estéreo closing out. Saturday’s events end at 11:00pm.
On Sunday, Ximena Sariñana, Sparta, Adrian Quesada’s Trio Asesino, Angélica Garcia, Estereomance, Sultanes del Yonke, Doom Well and Bloomwave will get the music rolling with The Flaming Lips closing out the inaugural event by 10:00pm.
Food and refreshments will be provided by local vendors with Taconeta providing complimentary tacos to VIP ticket holders.
The non-profit festival is organized by the El Paso Community Foundation. Proceeds from ticket sales will go local non-profits and community partners. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the Sol Summit website. Ticket prices start at $70 for a one-day general admission ticket. A two-day ticket is priced at $135. VIP tickets are $140 and $225. Tickets are sold on tiered pricing with ticket pricing increasing as each level sells out.
The Festival Director is Seth Dodson. Dodson is an El Paso native and an experienced music festival producer. He is also an Executive Director at Conde Nast, where he has led events for Pitchfork. His background includes being the director at Chicago’s Hideout.
Dodson said that he designed the festival to be “locally grown,” and “porous between genres.” His vision is emphasizing a line up of 50% English and 50% Spanish featuring an equal representation of artists as the two headliners.
Sponsors for the event include Raiz Federal Credit Union, DeadBeach Brewery and Espolón Tequila as well the Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC).
Some of the festival’s beneficiaries include the Migrant Families Relief Fund and the Borderland Rescue Fund. Both are planning on staffing onsite booths explaining their projects to attendees.
