ARLINGTON — Wyatt Langford continues to make progress in his return from a strained forearm, but it still remains uncertain if he will clear enough hurdles to rejoin the Rangers this weekend in Detroit.
“Today was a scheduled off day,” manager Skip Schumaker said. “And tomorrow he’ll be back at it with more intensity, and then facing a live arm and we’ll see where he is then. I know what he’s on schedule for in Detroit. Does it mean he needs a day or two of rehab games? We’re kind of talking through that now.
“He’s coming off the quad thing too. So, I think there’s some boxes that need to be checked.”
Langford is hitting only .238/.274/.363/.636 for the season, but was 10 for 23 (.435) in the five games leading up to the forearm injury.
