LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Around 6:20 a.m., Lubbock Fire Rescue was called to the scene of a structure fire in downtown Lubbock.
According to LFR, the caller said the building was fully engulfed. The first crew on scene saw heavy fire coming from the roof of the building.

Because of the intensity of the fire and fires that occurred previously at the same location, the Incident Commander decided to not let crews enter the building since it could’ve collapsed.
Crews fought the fire from the outside, containing and extinguishing the fire with no injuries. The LFR Fire Marshal’s Office asked for assistance from the City of Lubbock’s Code Enforcement Department to determine if it should be demolished.
The property owner then arrived and agreed to to go ahead with the emergency demolition of the structure.
LFR said it had previously responded to the same building two other times for separate fires in the past.
