A child and an adult died Saturday night after they were found and removed from a two-alarm house fire in Colleyville, firefighters said.
Firefighters were first called to the home in the 4700 block of Bill Simmons Drive on reports of two children trapped inside, Colleyville Fire Department said in a news release Tuesday.
Two adults escaped the fire, but firefighters later learned one of them went back in.
The adult and two children were found by fire crews during rescue operations and removed from the house. All three were taken to hospitals, but firefighters said the adult and a child died from injuries sustained in the fire.
The fire was brought under control and eventually put out with the help of other fire departments, firefighters said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
