SCHERTZ – Police are investigating attempted child abduction in a Schertz neighborhood.
On Oct. 29, at approximately 4 p.m., the Schertz Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious individual in the 1500 block of Red Cedar Cove. According to the reporting party, a white male wearing a black shirt and blue jeans attempted to persuade a 10-year-old girl to walk with him. The girl, unfamiliar with the man, sought help at a neighbor’s house.
Officers arrived promptly and are currently canvassing the neighborhood. While this incident appears to be isolated, it serves as a reminder of “Stranger Danger” and highlights an important conversation that parents need to have with their children.
The Schertz Police Department expressed significant concern about the event and will continue to conduct a thorough investigation. Residents in the area with security cameras are urged to review their footage.
