LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Texas Transit Association honored Lubbock’s bus system and its former leader with statewide recognition.
The awards were given Wednesday afternoon at the association’s annual conference.
Citibus is celebrating its 50th year of service. It also received the Outstanding Urban Transit System Award.
John Wilson, who led Citibus as its general manage from 1983 to 2012, also received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The annual conference includes the state bus “Roadeo”, a competition and way to highlight the skill of some of the best bus operators and mechanics in the state.
