Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens signed the $27.3 million non-exclusive franchise tender on Wednesday, the team announced.
Now that Pickens has signed his tag the Cowboys can trade him if they so choose. There was speculation about the possibility when news broke of Pickens’ intention to sign the tender just hours before the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday.
The Cowboys have been adamant they don’t want to trade Pickens, who put up career numbers in 2025 with 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns.
“We have no intention of moving George,” Jones said after the first night of the draft. “In our mind we’re fired up about it that he’s ready to come in here, sign his tender, and in our mind, that means he’s ready to go to work.”
When he shows up for work remains to be seen.
