WHITE SETTLEMENT – Charles Lee Hokett, 80, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026. Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2026, in the Breyley Suite at Mount Olivet. Charles was born on January 10, 1946, in Caney, Oklahoma, to Mary Pearline and Earl Lonzo Hokett. He later moved to Odessa, Texas, where he spent much of his younger years and where he met the love of his life, Charlotte. After serving his country proudly in the United States Air Force, the couple eventually made their home in Fort Worth, Texas, where together they built a life and raised their beautiful family. A hardworking and dedicated man, Charles began his career as a roughneck in the oil fields during his late teens and twenties. His passion for working on cars started early in life and stayed with him through the years. He later found his second home at Texas Motors Ford, where he worked faithfully until retirement. Along the way, he built lasting friendships and considered many of his coworkers extended family. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping trips, and especially playing slot machines. Charles always seemed to have a little extra luck on his side, and no matter who won, he and his wife would happily split the winnings and head home together. Though he did not belong to a church, he believed deeply in God and carried that faith quietly throughout his life. He was preceded by his parents, Earl Lonzo Hokett and Mary Pearline; and siblings, Jean Hunter, Ann Jones, Lonzo Hokett, Dessie Mae Morris, and Wilma Mayo. Charles is survived by his wife Charlotte Hokett, his daughters, Debbie Teague and James, Donna Soto and Jerry, Dana Thomas, and Barbara Hokett; and brother, AG Lacky. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
