The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is investigating after a local business claims two of the gas lines to its company vehicles were intentionally cut. The shop is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects, as it says acts like these put employee lives in danger.
It happened overnight on Monday, April 27, according to the official incident report. Officers were dispatched to the Premier Window Tinting location at 3623 E. Evans, Suite 113, on San Antonio’s Northeast side after the event unfolded at around 3:45 a.m. The family-owned shop has been around for more than 30 years and provides commercial, residential, and automotive window tinting services, its website states.
Manager Alexa Machado tells MySA that the individuals parked across the street, entered the property, went to the company’s specific vehicles, and then left. They add that nothing like this has ever happened before.
Per the report, two suspects were captured on surveillance camera footage at the property during the early morning hours. The clip shows one of the suspects, who “appears to have cut the gas lines” off two of the listed vehicles at the location, the report states. On Nextdoor, the company described the suspects as a “male in red cap, dark shirt, light pants,” and a “male in dark clothing” and “white and black sneakers.”
“Both were working together and intentionally targeting our vehicles,” Premier Window Tinting wrote on Nextdoor.
The company called the damage “frustrating,” writing in a statement that “it really stinks when people go out of their way to deliberately hurt a small family business…especially in this economy.” Hover, it says it was more concerned about the danger it created for the staff.
“Our employees drive these vehicles every day—people with families, people just trying to do their jobs and provide for their loved ones,” a Facebook post from the business read. “Tampering with vehicles puts lives at risk, and that’s something we take very seriously.”
Crews with Premier Window Tinting sometimes travel to New Braunfels, Boerne, and San Marcos for appointments. The business urged residents to stay vigilant and check their vehicles. It is also asking for those who recognize the people in the images to contact the business or SAPD.
“We are working closely with authorities and will do everything we can to hold those responsible accountable.”
The suspects have not been located as of Thursday, April 30, SAPD confirmed.
