A new wine bar from the hospitality group behind Hot Joy and Little Death is ready to open its doors in downtown San Antonio, where it will add to the growing food and drink options on Houston Street.
Bar Bamboosh is the latest concept from Empty Stomach, the hospitality group with more than a dozen restaurants and bars spread out across the city. Chad Carey, restaurateur and principal of Empty Stomach, shared a few details with MySA about the new wine bar and what customers can expect when it launches this Friday, May 1.
“It’s going to be definitely within the hemisphere of Little Death,” Carey said during a phone interview. “It’s going to be a little bit more global than that in terms of the wines that we’re serving.”
Carey went on to say that Bar Bamboosh will also serve some small bites in the vein of tapas alongside a fridge of grab-and-go items. Similar to Little Death, the new bar will stock all-natural, low-intervention wines.
“We’re ready to go. We’re ready to shake some ham and pull some corks out of some cool bottles,” Carey added.
Bar Bamboosh is opening on Friday, and it’s expected to be open from 3 p.m. to midnight going forward. It is located next door to Kaedama Battleship Noodle Bar, another concept in the Empty Stomach family.
