The month of May in North Texas will begin Friday on a rainy note with cool weather in the forecast for the next couple of day.
After days of active weather that included severe weather for parts of North Texas, widespread, heavy showers are expected in the region to end the word week. Friday will be mostly cool and breezy with high temperatures never making it out of the 50s. Temperatures will be in the low 50s by 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
Rainfall amounts can range between a quarter and half of an inch, the weather service said.
Overnight temperature are expected to bottom out near 49 degrees. It is expected to be cloudy for most of the day with showers in the forecast mainly before 7 p.m.
The weekend is expected to bring sunshine and pleasant weather to North Texas with high temperatures in the 70s. The heat will return to North Texas in the coming week, according to the weather service’s forecast.
