The Rare Rita, made with Socorro Tequila Blanco, is available now in Frisco and beyond
A margarita usually arrives loud. Salted rim, cloudy citrus, maybe a neon glow depending on where you ordered it.
The new Rare Rita at Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille takes a different route entirely.
Served crystal clear and cocktail-bar sleek in appearance, the drink is a clarified margarita made with Socorro Tequila Blanco, fresh lime, agave nectar and orange bitters, finished with a Valencia orange peel mist and a gold salt rim.
The result looks more like a chilled spirit-forward cocktail than the frozen or citrus-heavy margaritas Texans are used to seeing. And now, diners can order one without leaving Collin County.
What Makes It Different
Clarified cocktails have been gaining traction in upscale bars over the last few years, but they are still uncommon on large restaurant menus. The process removes solids and cloudiness while keeping the flavor intact, creating a smoother texture and a cleaner finish.
In the Rare Rita, that means the tequila sits front and center rather than getting buried beneath citrus and sweetness.
“Socorro Tequila Blanco delivers the kind of clean, polished tequila that makes a clarified margarita truly shine,” said Perry’s Beverage Director Paige Stroud in an official statement. “It allows the true agave character to come through in a way that feels both refined and authentic.”
Socorro Tequila is made using just agave, water and yeast, following traditional production methods in Jalisco, Mexico. The brand was founded with a focus on helping fund clean drinking water projects for orphanages and nursing homes near its distillery in Jalisco, pairing its production with a broader effort to create a positive impact alongside its spirits.

“100% sustainably grown blue Weber agave and traditional methods of production truly respect the spirit’s roots,” Stroud said. “It’s a natural fit with how we approached the Rare Rita — thoughtful, elevated and rooted in quality.”
Now Pouring In Frisco (And Beyond)
The Rare Rita officially launches May 1 at Perry’s locations nationwide, including Frisco. Socorro Tequila Blanco will also now be featured at all Perry’s restaurants.
