Saturday is Election Day, with numerous mayoral, city council and school trustee races and bond and charter amendment propositions before voters around the region.
In Fort Worth, voters are being asked to consider an $845 million bond package in propositions for streets, parks, libraries, affordable housing, public safety and animal control.
The city also is asking voters to consider nine charter amendments, including one to raise the pay of the mayor and council members.
It’s the third time in 10 years the question has been on the ballot, having failed twice previously.
The city also is holding a special election to fill the unexpired term of the District 10 City Council seat held by Alan Blaylock, who is stepping down to run for the Legislature.
In Arlington, the school district is asking voters to consider a $501.26 million bond package in three propositions to replace two elementary schools and make numerous improvements to campuses.
Two Arlington ISD trustees are up for reelection and opposed.
Arlington Mayor Jim Ross is up for reelection and challenged by three candidates; two council members are seeking reelection and opposed; and two council seats are open, with multiple candidates.
The city is also asking voters to consider whether to reauthorize a municipal sales and use tax for street maintenance.
