LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – While a lot of rain fell yesterday, it didn’t fall for everyone across the South Plains, at least not as much as we wanted!

TODAY
A quiet, sunnier and warmer day is coming up! High temperatures will climb into the low 70s this afternoon with mostly sunny/clear skies.

Winds stay light all day.
TONIGHT
Another cool/chilly night is on the way as low temperatures drop into the 40s once again. Winds remain light with clear skies.
SUNDAY
The main difference in today and Saturday will be the high temperatures and some stronger winds in the afternoon hours.

High temps will encroach on 80 degrees in the afternoon, with winds picking up to around 10 to 20 mph and gusting up to 25 mph.
EXTENDED WEATHER PATTERN
Warmer and even windier weather will make a comeback as we push into the first full week of May next week.
Winds are going to start strengthening Sunday but really ramp up to kick off next week(Dylan Smith)
High temperatures will approach 90 on Monday with strong winds of more than 30 to 35 mph gusts.
Temperatures will continue to climb from the chilly end to last week to near 90 by Monday. We’ll mellow out around 80 for most of next week(Dylan Smith)
