The No. 8 Auburn Tigers open a pivotal series on the road at No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday with a doubleheader. If you are wondering where to watch the action live, you have come to the right place.
After a break from midweek action due to final exams and rain postponing Friday’s action, Auburn baseball is fresh and ready to return to action. Saturday’s game will kick off a three-series stretch for Auburn that will see them face three top-10 teams to close out the season, with No. 7 Texas A&M first up.
“Something I’m trying to sell to my team is, ‘We want the journey.’ That keeps us present,” Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said of Auburn’s final three-series stretch. “We want to stay in the journey more than we want the end. The end is the future. This group has loved each other so much, and I absolutely appreciate the coaches and players on this team. I want the journey. Some of my regret in the past has been wanting the end and not enjoying the journey. We have no control over (the journey) except for our play, and this is going to make us a better ballclub going to play this series against these guys.”
Auburn will send Andreas Alvarez to the mound for game one to battle Texas A&M’s Shane Sdao. Auburn is 8-2 in games Alvarez has started this season, and is 3-1 since he moved into the Friday night starter role. He has struck out 24 batters over his last four SEC starts and has given up only 10 earned runs in that stretch. Sdao leads Texas A&M in strikeouts (66), but has not earned a win on the mound since March 6, when he tossed seven innings and struck out eight in Texas A&M’s 6-3 win over Oakland.
Game two will see Jake Marciano toe the rubber for Auburn, opposite of Aiden Sims for the Aggies. Marciano has not won a game on the mound since Auburn’s SEC opener at Missouri on March 13, and the Tigers are 2-4 over the last six games that Marciano has started. Run support has been low for Marciano, as the Tigers have scored 13 runs in Marciano’s last six starts. Not only will Auburn look to give Marciano a cushion, but they will also aim to give Aiden Sims his first loss of the season. Sims is 8-0 with a 3.45 ERA entering this weekend.

Auburn baseball will need to slow down Texas A&M’s bats in the series. The Aggies boast the SEC’s second-highest slugging percentage (.577), third in home runs (90) and RBI (359). The Aggies and Tigers are close in average, ranking third and fourth in the SEC. Texas A&M is batting .310 collectively compared to Auburn’s .300.
